Creative Robotics Club

Creative Robotics Club is an afterschool STEAM learning experience that teaches the basics of robot building through tinkering, making, and arts and crafts projects. Every semester is different—no repeat projects!

This club goes way beyond putting together a kit or playing with coding toys. Each week, students will explore a new way to use one or more of the basic building blocks of robotics: motors, servos, sensors, and microcontrollers. They’ll confidently use everyday materials like cardboard and plastic containers to try out their ideas. And before the semester ends, they’ll have a chance to combine their best ideas to create a complete and totally one-of-a-kind working robot! Programming will be done in MicroBlocks and OctoStudio, a new mobile coding app developed by the team at MIT that created Scratch.
